Well....I woke up this morning at 9:30. It was awfully quiet in the house because my dad's on a business trip and my little brother Andrew is at a friend's house. I was the last one to get up (after Momma and Jacob).
I dilly-dallyed around for a while doing nothing really productive...and then I did my baking for the week. I LOVE baking so I tried to find some kind of outlet for my baking a few months ago...where I could bake without eating all that I baked. haha! So I decided to take something sweet to my Sunday school class each week. This week, I made a blueberry "softbake". It's kind of a blueberry cookie/muffin. Here's a picture:
Later, I decided it was time to catch up on my homework. In history, I had to do this little activity book...my "Civics Activity Book." In it, you have to fill out all these facts about America, your state, and county. Monday the state section is due, so I finished it up this afternoon. I think going through this book has been really fun and interesting. I've re-familiarized myself with and learned a lot of cool stuff about Tennessee. I moved to Tennessee when I was 10 (from Florida), and I LOVE it here. It's a beautiful state full of great people and there's so much music and culture...and it's just...fantastic! haha! There are the rural areas of Tennessee that are so beautiful, peaceful, and refreshing. There are beautiful farms and small towns full of close-knit people. There are also awesome cities like Nashville and Memphis. The cities are really neat too. There is so much music in the Tennessee cities. Nashville is (obviously) the country music capital of the world. There's not just country artists here though. All different kinds of musicians come here, following their dreams. The record labels, the recording studios, the producers...it's all here! Don't forget Memphis though! It has a lot of jazz and rock and roll culture. Artists like Elvis and Justin Timberlake have come out of Memphis.
Tennessee is a VERY special state.
Before I end, I have to tell y'all something absolutely hilarious. Sometimes bugs get in our house like bees and wasps (ew), and my brothers have developed an interesting way of getting rid of these little pests. Shoot rubber bands like slingshots at them. It's hilarious to watch...My youngest brother Andrew is my official bug slayer. Whenever I see a bug that needs to be disposed of, I call Andrew.
I had a thought the other day. When I move out and a bug gets in my house...who's going to kill it for me?...
Not to rain on your parade, but I HATE TN! It's so boring. Lol. Even though its cool that we are the country music capitol. When I go places like Camp Barnabas (which is in MO) people always ask if I've seen stars and go all coo-coo on me when I say I live in Nashville. I say, "Um...No?" Its weird. But I'm glad you like it here and like UCA so much!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I understand! I like Tennessee's natural beauty and I just love any Southern state...haha. There are a lot of awesome states though...like Arizona. I LOVE Arizona! It's amazing out there.
ReplyDeleteReally? I've never been! I've heard its hot and I HATE HOT WEATHER...my hair never looks right in heat. LOL! I've always thought it would be cool to live up North - where it snows a lot. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a dry heat. I know everyone says that, but they just don't have the humidity that we have. I think your hair would be fine. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't even imagine living up North! haha. I guess I'm still a Florida girl at heart.
